Ancient Aztec floating Garden

The Aztecs were problem solvers and amazing engineers they settled in the middle of lake! The Aztecs had to figure out how to grow food. If they planted there crops on the ground outside of the lake they would have to have guards watching the gardens to make sure no one stole there food. This would create another job meaning that they would need people to do it taking them away from doing other things. So the Aztecs with there problem solving skills worked that they could make gardens in the lake. They made lots of square gardens which were actually rafts anchored to the bottom of the lake. The crops would grow very well because they would put the fertile soil from the lake onto the "floating gardens".
